Julie H. Walker established the J.H. Walker Legacy Foundation in 2011. She had a desire to impact the lives of infants, children and teenagers which led to the creation of a charitable Foundation. Julie manages the grant process and works to develop a rapport with each recipient.
Julie was awarded the 2016 Foundation Philanthropist of the Year by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Charleston Chapter.
She is currently serving on the Coastal Community Foundation’s Board, serving from 2019 through 2025.
Julie is a Riley Fellow, completing Furman’s Riley Institute Diversity Leadership Initiative, Fall 2022. She is also a member of the South Carolina Grantmakers Network, Together SC and Philanthropy Southeast.
Julie is a native of Tulsa, OK and attended the University of Oklahoma. She now resides in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
